Expressing ourselves!
Last week marked the Children’s Mental Health week 2021 and to celebrate, The Link Secondary School thoroughly enjoyed engaging in activities based around this year’s theme – ‘Express Yourself’. Throughout the week we did more of what we do best – encouraging our students to express themselves in lots of different ways.
The 6th form students met online to talk about what ‘expressing yourself’ means to them. The session was really valuable and soon moved on with everybody getting up and dancing to Cha Cha Slide. Students had fun playing charades and expressing themselves through drama. Two students even played the piano and the guitar, it was a great session, much enjoyed by all.
The older Key Stage 4 and 5 students in school had a class discussion about mental health and accessed some of the BBC online resources.
Our students know the importance of talking about mental health and they understand how good mental health contributes to people’s general wellbeing.
