Guided Image Readings

Over the last few weeks we have been looking at how our bodies feel at certain moments and different ways to help ourselves become soothed, relaxed and calm – to ‘self-regulate’.

In week one we practised the ‘5 step self-holding positions’, using our hands to hold our head, neck, chest and tummies to relax us.

In week two we practised listening to a reading, with music, which guided us to create a picture in our minds with our imagination.  This picture was our very own and helped to calm us and bring us peace.

The recordings will take you through the activities we have done during our workshops – if you would like to carry on and practise them at home that would be great!

Remember – everybody is different, not every activity will fit or work for everyone and that is okay. Take your time, and if you need to stop please do. Do not feel that you have to do any of these if you don’t want to.
