Tram Day
Sixth form students had a very informative trip on the trams around Croydon as part of Tram Day. They learnt all about how to travel and stay safe on trams, how to get help if required and the different ways to pay their fares.
“It was very exciting for students to have the whole carriage to themselves” said tutor, Lynn Shah, who went on to explain that “the excursion was an extension of their learning about jobs, travel training and communication in the community.”
Students had the opportunity to find out about different career options within Transport for London (TFL). One student, who has aspirations to become a train driver bravely asked what a train drivers salary was, he was surprised by the answer saying : “ I was really shocked at the amount they earn. I am going to try hard to become a driver.”
